As a muscle car fan and adult-sized child, when I realized LEGO had released a new Creator Expert Ford Mustang model I was excited to get my hands on it. For those of you who signed up for the Animas Pump Return and still haven’t received their Visa Prepaid card, here’s a quick update as to how long the process took. I don’t usually review Diabetes devices but having just been thru a pump switch, I thought I’d share my experience switching from an Animas to a Tandem Insulin Pump. Read on to see why I strongly question their “#1 Rated Customer Support” claim on the Tandem Diabetes website (highlighted in the cover image of this post). Overall I’d give the customer service a 1/10 mainly due to the lack thereof service from the manufacturer and the cumbersome order process. This was another long day of driving (~5+ hrs with stopping for pictures along the way) from Fairbanks to Glennallen so we packed our bags as well as lunch as there weren’t many towns along the way to stop by. Within an hour and a half, we were at Delta Junction, where you’d turn off to go towards Glennallen (on continue on if you want to go into Canada). A few bunnies came out of the wooded area by the parking lot of our lodge in Healy to say goodbye as we were getting ready to leave. The drive to Fairbanks was relatively short with it being under 2hrs compared to all the driving we S and J did in Alaska. We got into Fairbanks around 11:30AM, just in time for lunch. We ate at the Great Harvest Bread Co, hands down one of the best bakeries I’ve even been to. And the best part is they give out full-size samples of their bread, cake of the day! We…

Drive to Healy After a relaxed morning, eating breakfast while watching the mountains from our living room in Girdwood, we managed to pack up and get out by 10:30AM. First stop was Beluga point on the Old Seward Hwy. We didn’t see any Belugas or other Whales for that matter but it was a gorgeous view out to the bay. We spent a total of 4D, 5N in Anchorage/Girdwood – the first two days on our way in and the last three at the end of our trip. First Leg (Girdwood) We originally had an Airbnb just 10 min outside Anchorage airport and so had an evening flight out which was originally going to arrive in Anchorage around 10:30PM which would give us plenty of time to drive to our vacation rental and get some rest before embarking on our adventure. These past couple of months have been crazy busy between travel, re-doing my business website as well as moving and re-designing our blog from WordPress.com to WordPress.org, training for our Crater Lake Century bike ride among other things. I’m finally trying to get my bearings down and write again. We’re going to switch it up a bit and start writing of our most recent trips and go backwards as S said realized if I were to stick to my original plan of writing in chronological order, it might take a couple of years (and even then, might not still catch up).
