Mini bike pumps are a rapidly growing bike accessory segment which are a compact and reusable alternative to CO2 canisters for inflation on the go. The Coospo AP-B1 is one of the latest mini electric pumps on the market and one of the first pumps from the Coospo which are best known for their computers. Retail price is an aggressive $79.90 which undercuts many of the competitors in the field while still offering a 500mAh battery and 120 PSI maximum inflation pressure. The pump comes with attachments for inflating Presta, Schrader or balls with a clever Schrader / Presta 2-in-1 flexible hose. There is also a large colored LCD display which shows battery status, target pressure and current pressure levels.
The COOSPO AP-B1 combines a relatively affordable price with a large battery capacity to inflate multiple tires.

UNBOXING
The Coospo AP-B1 comes in a compact cardboard box with Coospo orange and white branding on it. Inside the box you’ll find:
- AP-B1 pump
- Fabric storage bag
- 2-in-1 hose
- Schrader specific attachment
- Presta specific attachment
- Ball inflator attachment
- USB-C charging cable
- Lanyard
- Instruction manual
We’re happy to see a storage bag included with the pump as it lets you put the AP-B1 in a saddlebag and not worry about the screen getting scratched up.
FIT & FINISH
Visually, the Coospo AP-B1 has a rectangular profile with a rounded top and plastic body. The pump has a matte plastic finish with large vents for the cylindrical pump and internal electronics. We would describe the pump on the larger size as the 71.5 x 45 x 32 mm dimensions are larger than its competitors like the CYCPLUS AS2 Pro Max pump. With its plastic body, the AP-B1 pump feels cheaper than competitor mini pumps models which have metal bodies. There is also a visible molding line on the top curve which adds to that effect. On the base of the pump you’ll find an open USB-C port for charging while the right side has a thread on slot for the nozzle attachments. There is a large black glossy surface on the front of the pump with the Coospo logo, three buttons and the LCD display.

As far as inflation, there are three dedicated attachments for Presta, Schrader and balls. The Presta and Schrader attachments have a nice rubber grip on the outside and are color coded to avoid confusion. They simply thread onto the side of the pump and then thread or slide onto the appropriate valve type. One of the most clever features of the pump is the additional 2 in 1 flexible air hose which can be used with Presta or Schrader valves. It is a 4 inch tube that makes it easier to get between spokes with a full 360 degree rotation and a flexible base that uses the same thread on design. What’s cool about this hose is that it can simply switch between Presta and Schrader valves by simply unscrewing the center. This allows the head to slide out so you can thread it onto a Presta valve and then screw back in for storage or Schrader valves. It’s a smart design that eliminates the need for additional parts or confusing washers that other pumps use.

USER INTERFACE
Operating the pump is done through the three labeled buttons below the screen. There is a plus and minus button as well as a power button with each button having a short and long press action. A long press of the power button turns it on and off, while a short press with it on turns starts or stops inflating. The plus and minus buttons operate as you would expect with a short press to increase or decrease the target pressure or can be held down. What is a bit confusing is that Coospo has also added a secondary double press action for both buttons. A double press of the minus button turns on a LED on the side. It’s a very dim LED and doesn’t provide much illumination unless you are in the pitch dark. Double pressing the plus button switches between PSI or BAR display pressure units. The screen itself is bright and well illuminated with the actual pressure, target pressure and battery status shown. Coospo has used a green color for the target pressure to help differentiate them which is a nice touch.

IMPRESSIONS
To be honest. we’ve never been fans of CO2 canisters as they’ve always seemed a bit wasteful with their one-time use design. Mini pumps like the Coospo AP-B1 offer an attractive alternative which can be easily carried for inflation on the go. Even though the AP-B1 is larger than the CYCPLUS and the Flextail pumps it’s still on par with a CO2 canister. As with all mini-pumps it’s slow to inflate with inflation times of about 90 seconds to hit 80 psi on a 700×32 tire and 50 seconds for 80 psi on a 700×25. The 500mAh battery is fairly large though, which means you can use it on multiple tires before having to recharge it. It’s also easy to stay on top of the battery level as the LCD display is large and easy to read.
While the pump is fairly straightforward to use,it can be cumbersome as it’s easy to forget that double pressing the plus and minus buttons do a secondary action instead of quickly switching the pressure value. That means it’s easier to hold the buttons down and wait when making larger pressure value changes instead of double pressing the button. We found it easy to accidentally turn on the LED light or switch the units as the timing for the double press is very similar to what you would do for a quick button press to change the pressure. The pump does have mode memory which ensures it always turns back on the same pressure you turned it off at. It is also hard to ignore just how obnoxiously loud the AP-B1 is as the pump works hard to inflate tires. Even though most mini pumps are loud, we found the AP-B1’s sound to be more annoying.
THE VERDICT
Overall, we found the Coospo AP-B1 mini pump to be a powerful alternative to CO2 or hand pumps. Coospo has combined a large 500 mAh battery and a large easy to read display into the AP-B1 which make it easy to inflate multiple tires on a single charge. The AP-B1 is also more affordable than other mini pumps on the market which is nice to see. We were impressed with the clever 2-in-1 flexible hose attachment which as a simple extension design to switch between Presta and Schrader valves instead of requiring tools or complicated modifications. Our biggest issue with the pump are some of the usability issues. Double pressing the buttons activates separate functions instead of quickly changing the target pressure and the pump is one of the loudest we’ve reviewed. That said, the Coospo AP-B1 offers competitive pricing and power that should do well in the mini electric pump segment.
