Let’s be real, Cycling is a male dominated sport. Not only is it hard to find cycling gear catered to women, we sometimes have to resort to men’s items like cycling shoes to partake in the sport. At least one should be thankful this doesn’t apply to clothing. However, women’s clothing pretty much looks the same as its male counterpart except for the usual color/cut variation. GORE however has taken it a step further with the C7 Women’s Pro Jersey. With a flattering design with features that you didn’t think of, the GORE C7 Women Pro Jersey is at the top of our favorites list.
The GORE C7 Women’s Pro jersey a high-performance jersey that’s comfortable whether you are riding for a few miles or a few hours.

GORE packages the Pro Jersey in a simple plastic bag with a few informational tags attached to it. As with many GORE apparel items, the jersey packs thinner and flatter than one would initially expect.
The gorgeous Hibiscus pink color is bright enough to be visible yet doesn’t hurt your eyes unlike some neon cycling apparel (like the PEARL iZUMi AmFIB jacket). GORE also currently offers the jersey in a full black and their characteristic Nordic Blue/Citrus Green variations (which pairs well with their Pro Zip-Off Jersey). The solid color and minimal branding gives the jersey a sleek yet modern appearance. In terms of design, the jersey features raglan sleeves which means there is no seam on the shoulder to cause discomfort especially if you wear a backpack or hydration pack on top of the jersey. On the front of the jersey, you’ll find a full length zipper with a rubbery texture underflap at the bottom of the zipper to help grip the jersey and easily engage the zipper through the tab.
Designed for warm weather riding, there are multiple mesh panels on the jersey, under the arms as well as the center back for breathability. Worried about storage? The jersey comes with an impressive 6 pockets with 4 in the back and 2 on the sides. A secure zippered pocket on the right rear side is easily accessible and large enough to stow credit/ID cards/cash. The two smaller side pockets provide quick access to snacks while riding without having to search through the larger rear pockets. Reflective GORE logos on the chest, sleeves, and rear provide additional nighttime visibility.
In terms of cycling jerseys, we found that the GORE sizing chart was on the larger side. Based on the chart, our 5’ 5” and 120lb female rider got the medium size despite normally wearing a small in other brands. Not surprisingly, the jersey fit a little larger than expected. However, because the jersey is part of the C7 product line, it has a slim fit and the slightly larger size allowed for more comfortable use of a baselayer or sun-sleeves underneath. One thing worth noting is that the GORE running apparel seems to run larger than the same sized cycling apparel so we recommend test fitting before purchasing if possible to avoid sizing issues.
The raglan sleeves are super comfortable as it eliminates the shoulder seam and provides additional range of motion. The fabric seems to be a medium weight and with the recommended temperature range that GORE includes for their cycling apparel, it makes it easy to compare different products. This jersey is recommended for warm weather in the 60°F – 75°F range, but we found that we could also wear it in low 50°Fs with a baselayer underneath for warmth. The mesh panels scattered throughout the jersey are well placed to provide ample ventilation. With the dropped tail, which means the back is longer than the front, and the grippy strip along the hem, the jersey stays in place securely even as you switch between riding the drops and hoods.
Overall, we found that the GORE C7 Women Pro Jersey to be a well designed and executed warm weather jersey. Mixed materials, seam placement, and form-fitting design result in a high-performance jersey that’s comfortable whether you are riding for a few miles or a few hours. Particularly in the Hibiscus Pink color, the Pro jersey has a sleek and modern appearance. Even though the jersey is designed as a warmer weather jersey, we found that it worked well in colder climates by utilizing layers. If you’re a female rider looking for a flattering jersey, the C7 Pro Jersey is easy to recommend.
